CGC is proud to announce that on April 24, 2009 the Melbourne City Hall building received it’s Certificate of Occupancy. The project came in on time and on budget and is the new focal point for the downtown area. Melbourne City Hall was a design/build project with CGC as the lead. It is a 5 story, 58,826 square foot building which features a state of the art 200 seat council chamber (panoramic pictures are available at a link on our website www.cgcflorida.com) and upgraded finishes throughout the building.
This was phase one of the project. On Friday May 15, 2009 the City of Melbourne began moving into the building and opened for business Monday May 18 at 1:00 pm. CGC will begin demolition of the old City Hall on June 1, 2009. Once complete, construction will begin on the new 5 level parking garage. On Saturday May 30, 2009 there was a dedication and plaque unveiling at the building followed by guided tours.
